BICS is an nonprofit, educational, community benefit sailing organization dedicated to make sailing affordable and available to everyone. BICS is a member based organization and offers sailing lessons and sailboat rentals to non members and members who naturally get to enjoy our member discounts. I am new to sailing, what lessons are available?

At BICS we teach the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Sailing course in larger boats. feel free to write or call to learn more about our Certificate Programs including Basic Cruising, Bareboat Cruising and Coastal Navigation.

I have some sailing experience what lesson level should I select?

At BICS we teach to each student's sailing ability. Level 1 courses are for beginner sailors and Level 2 is for more experienced intermediate sailors. Our goal is to get you out sailing in our boats, with your friends and family, without an instructor.

i am an experianced sailor, how to I get checked out in your boats?

Experienced sailors can get checked out in any of our boats by scheduling a boat checkout with our staff to learn how to rig and derig the boats, our safety procedures, and by demonstrating their sailing ability. Once you are checked out in one of our boats, you can take it sailing when ever it is available.

What sailing certificates can I earn if I take your courses?

As an Accredited US Sailing Keelboat Sailing School, BICS is able to provide its students who pass our courses with the US Sailing Basic Keelboat, Basic Cruising, Bareboat Cruising, and Coastal Navigation course sailing proficiency certificates. These allow you to apply for your US Sailing "International Proficiency Certificate" which will allow you to lease a Bareboat Charter, as the Charter Captain, anywhere in the world.
